Adrian Warrick Stringed Instruments Ltd

WELCOME

Adrian Warrick Stringed Instruments caters for all players, from absolute beginners to International soloists. We offer a full range of instruments always fully setup in our workshop to the highest standard and for players who are aware of their particular needs, a bespoke setup. We specialise in achieving the best sound from every instrument and facilitating the technique of the player. Our workshop repairs are done with traditional techniques and materials; we do not use modern glues such as P.V.A. which can damage instruments. Please do not hesitate to call as some simple problems, for instance, a buzz on a string, can be diagnosed over the phone with the player often able to rectify the problem without resorting to the need for travel.
HISTORY A FAMILY OF STRINGS The Warrick family goes back four generations and over 130 years in classical orchestral stringed instruments. Albert Warrick, the founder, was trained as a luthier and restorer by Georges A. Chanot in both Paris and the North of England. His son Alfred moved down to London, the world centre of classical music, where he worked both for private clients and for W. E. Hill & sons, Beares, Withers and Guivier. The third generation, Alan, worked with his father and after taking over the reins of the business bought a shop in West London which was close to Heathrow Airport for International clientèle and superb road links for UK customers. Those premises were the center of the family business for 50 years until Adrian, the fourth and current generation, moved to the business’ current location of West Byfleet.

COVID 19 UPDATE - 1st July 2020

The slight relaxation of the lockdown means we are now able to serve our customers in the shop. Due to the size of these premises, we are easily able to observe social distancing. We do however request the following: Please call to make an appointment whenever possible, so we can stagger customer visits. The shop door is locked at all times, so upon your arrival you will need to ring the door bell or, if you would prefer, call from your mobile upon arrival. Whilst in the shop, we ask that all customers observe the current social-distancing guidelines. Many teachers are conducting lessons via online platforms, and some have requested that we tune their pupils’ instruments. We are most happy to do this at no cost. Some customers have been insistant at offering some fee so we would be very happy should you wish to make a donation of, say, £2 to a charity of your choice. We will never turn away a customer in need of help and this suggested donation is not compulsory.
